The Babel fish was the most improbable thing in the universe, a tiny creature that let you understand anyone instantly. Friendly-AI is aiming for the same trick, minus the bit where it goes in your ear. Understanding, on your terms, without surrendering yourself to do it.

Big models know a great deal but carry a great deal of weight. The distillation work shrinks that knowledge down into something local, fast, and private, so genuinely useful intelligence can run on your own hardware rather than renting it back to you by the question.

Locally stored memories and soul.md files

Your memories and your soul.md files stay with you. The system reads from identity and value files held on your machine, so the assistant grows to know you over time without that knowledge ever becoming someone else’s product. Jane, a local model, acts as the privacy anchor and orchestrator.
