Water – drops are precious

Water Self-Reliance

Self-reliance is a core Burn Principle. We need to bring everything we need to survive for a multi-day event… and that includes the #1 essential item – water.

The recommended amount of water is at least 4 litres of water per person, per day. It’s very easy to get dehydrated at Blazing Swan – so look after yourself and your fellow Blazers.

One tip to consider – freeze water in containers and pop them in your eski to keep your food chilled and safe.  When they’ve melted you can drink the water.

Water isn’t just for hydration – it’s also something you could need for cooking, brushing teeth, etc.

Showers:

The showers will be cold and short (2 minutes) and the opening times will be limited. Use wet wipes if you like – and take them home with you.  DON’T put them in the toilet

We all need to be aware that water is trucked (burning diesel fuel) into the site, and it’s in very limited supply. There are 3,000 to 3,500 people at the event for multiple days – so our consumption all adds up.

So (please) have short showers – as in drizzle yourself, turn off the water, soap up, rinse off.
And expect queues
